Food to be delivered to students

Carrollton, Ky. - November 24, 2020 - Starting Monday, Nov. 30, school district vehicles will deliver food to the homes of all Carroll County School District students who reside in Carroll County. Deliveries will be made once per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Each delivery will consist of five school breakfasts and five school lunches per child. For the safety of our employees and of families, deliveries will be left at the front door of each residence. 

 

“We are pleased to offer this service to our students,” said Chief Financial Officer Jon Conrad. “This has been a challenging year for many of our students and their families. We are committed to doing our part to help everyone get through the COVID-19 crisis together.”

 

Families can opt out of food deliveries if they wish to do so. To opt out, please call 502-662-0569 or email Lisa.Gault@carroll.kyschools.us. Families who wish to receive food deliveries do not need to take any action.
 

Football playoffs continue — All other sports delayed

 

Carrollton, Ky. - November 23, 2020 - In accordance with guidance from the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA), scholastic sports in the Carroll County School District will operate as follows:

 

— Football playoffs will continue. The Panthers’ next football game is 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 at Walton-Verona.

 

— All other sports are delayed, with practices resuming Dec. 14 at the earliest.

Beshear closes all schools to in-person instruction, starting Nov. 23

Carrollton, Ky. - November 19, 2020 - At a November 18 press conference, Gov. Beshear ordered all public and private schools in Kentucky to close to in-person instruction starting Monday, November 23. Therefore, Friday, November 20, will be the last day of in-person instruction for all Carroll County School District students until further notice. Classes will be held online under the distance learning model starting Monday. 

CCHS partners with Dow for new greenhouse Dow-CCHS Groundbreaking for Greenhouse

Carrollton, Ky. - October 30, 2020 - Students at Carroll County High School will soon have access to a new hydroponic greenhouse, made possible through partnership and grant support from Dow. Food grown in the greenhouse will be used in school lunches and will also help supply the Food Pantry of Carroll County. Construction of the new greenhouse will begin soon and should be complete by December of this year.

 

 

“We can’t thank Dow enough for what they are doing for our students and our community,” said Superintendent Danny Osborne. “Our agriculture program has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years, and for Dow to honor that growth in this way is just incredible. We are beyond blessed in this community, thanks to partners like Dow.”

Arney hired as new athletic director Arney hired as new athletic director

Carrollton, Ky. - October 20, 2020 - Carroll County’s own Beau Arney has been hired as the Carroll County School District’s new athletic director. Arney is taking on the position after Paul Stone retired in September. 

 

“I am pleased to announce that Mr. Beau Arney will be the new athletic director for the Carroll County School District,” said Superintendent Danny Osborne. “Mr. Arney comes to us with a tremendous amount of coaching and training experience both in a scholastic and in a private-sector setting. If you know Mr. Arney, you know he is a passionate, driven individual. He is committed to using athletics as a way to provide tremendous experiences for our students, and I am excited to see our athletic program develop under his leadership.”
