Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members:

As of March 5, 2020, the Carroll County School District has zero confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported among students or staff. However, school district administrators are monitoring the situation and are in close communication with local and other public health officials.

Safety is the district’s first priority, and administrators will continue to monitor the situation and listen to input from public health officials.

Each Carroll County School District school has a school nurse who will be monitoring students and staff for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. In the event that a student or staff member exhibits signs of COVID-19, the district will follow standard procedures and work with local public health officials to determine the best course of action on a case-by-case basis.

In the meantime, teachers and staff members are reinforcing the importance of handwashing and other sanitary procedures to reduce the spread of illness.

If school officials determine that closing school is necessary, that information will be communicated through One Call Now, the district’s website (carroll.kyschools.us), and Facebook (facebook.com/carrollschoolsk).

The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services has a website that provides additional information, including information on everyday preventative actions: https://chfs.ky.gov/

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Danny Osborne

Superintendent

Carroll County School District
