Educational Excellence Foundation of Carroll County seeks parent, community directors for 2019-2020

Carrollton, Ky. — February 7, 2019 The Educational Excellence Foundation of Carroll County, Inc. — a nonprofit organization — is accepting nominations for two parent-directors and two community-directors for its board. Nominees for parent-director must have a student in the Carroll County School District.


Terms begin July 1, 2019, and last for one year. All directors serve as volunteers. Individuals may nominate themselves.


The Educational Excellence Foundation of Carroll County was founded to support educational initiatives in the community.


In 2018, the Foundation accomplished, among other things, the following:


—           Awarded more than $15,000 to Carroll County High School students for dual-credit tuition

—           Provided $12,000 in seed money to create in-school food pantries at Carroll County High School and Carroll County Middle School

—           Funded $9,000 in scholarships to Carroll County teachers to further their education

—           Sent $2,000 in grants to Carroll County teachers for classroom supplies

—           Granted $1,000 to Carroll County School District art teachers for art supplies
